Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Food Runner
plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless dining experience by
efficiently delivering food orders from the kitchen to guests in a
timely and professional manner. This position requires close
coordination with kitchen staff and servers to maintain the flow of
service and uphold high standards of food presentation and safety.
The Food Runner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and
organization in the dining and service areas while adhering to all
safety and hygiene protocols. This role demands physical stamina
and mobility to navigate the dining environment, often requiring
lifting and carrying heavy trays and standing for extended periods.
Ultimately, the Food Runner contributes significantly to guest
satisfaction by supporting the restaurant team and enhancing the
overall dining atmosphere. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work
nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant
schedule. Physical capability to lift and carry heavy weights
safely and stand for long periods. Full range of mobility including
the ability to reach overhead and perform repetitive motions. Basic
understanding of safety procedures and hygiene standards in a food
service environment. Previous experience in a food service or
hospitality role is preferred but not mandatory. Preferred
Qualifications: Familiarity with food handling and safety
certifications. Strong communication skills to coordinate
effectively with kitchen and service staff. Ability to multitask
efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Customer service
experience to enhance guest interactions. Responsibilities: Deliver
food orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests’
tables or room service locations. Communicate effectively with
kitchen staff and servers to ensure order accuracy and timely
service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas,
including clearing and resetting tables as needed. Adhere strictly
to safety procedures and hygiene standards throughout the shift.
Assist with lifting and carrying heavy trays or items while
ensuring safe handling practices. Remain mobile and attentive
throughout the shift, including reaching overhead and performing
repetitive motions as required. Work flexible hours including
nights, weekends, and holidays to support restaurant operations.
Skills: The required skills such as working nights, weekends, and
holidays ensure the Food Runner is available during peak service
times, supporting continuous restaurant operations. Physical skills
like lifting heavy weights, standing for long periods, and
maintaining full mobility are essential for safely and efficiently
transporting food and supplies throughout the shift. Knowledge of
safety procedures and hygiene practices is applied daily to
maintain a clean and safe environment for both guests and staff.
Repetitive motions and reaching overhead are common as the Food
Runner handles trays, plates, and other service items, requiring
endurance and attention to detail. Preferred skills like room
service experience and strong communication enhance the ability to
provide excellent guest service and coordinate smoothly with team
