Position SummaryUnder the Director of Quality and Patient Safety
direction,the Quality Data Analyst will conduct readmission data
validation, analysis and interpretation to drive improvements with
all cause and disease specific readmission rates in alignment with
Middlesex Health Quality Improvement and Patient Safety
programmatic goals.Responsible for operationalizing all tools and
techniques necessary to quantifiably improve quality processes and
outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Designs and produces timely, meaningful and accurate
readmission data analysis and data interpretation regarding all
cause and disease specific datasets, related to the organization's
initiatives.
- Utilizes EPIC reporting tools such as Cogito, reporting
workbench and slicer dicer as well as Power BI and CHIME Data for
analyzing quality metrics.
- Conducts data validation and interprets data accurately to
produce clear and comprehensive written analyses, graphs, tables,
etc. for diverse internal audiences, ensures that reported data is
accurate and reliable. -
- Acts as co-chair of Readmission Committee. Demonstrates
competence and good judgment in verbal and written skills
presentations, including ability to plan content, develop
presentations, use audiovisual aids; is articulate and poised in
presenting to individuals as well as larger audiences.
- Oversees dissemination of information related to reports to
appropriate administrators, department heads, staff.
- Plans, organizes, and prioritizes assignments related to the
organization's initiatives.
- Performs new and ongoing projects as assigned by Director.

- Ensures that design of new processes, or redesign of current
processes, will incorporate patient safety principles and an
emphasis on the important hospital and patient care functions.
- Acts as a resource/adviser and/or team facilitator for quality
improvement teams.
- Conducts QI education and consultation for hospital employees
and medical staff, both formally and informally.
- Participates in surveys as needed or requested.
- Takes responsibility for meeting all timelines and for
notifying management of any significant incidents, deficiencies or
delinquencies. Utilizes available resources to facilitate problem
solving and takes responsibility for finding solutions. Continues
to educate self regarding health care quality. -
- This role has the possibility of acting in a dual capacity
being a back up to the Cipherhealth platform.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in healthcare related field
- 2+ years of related healthcare data analytical experience
required
- Strong analytical skills required
- Advanced skills with EPIC Cogito, reporting workbench, and
Slicer Dicer is required
- Demonstrates proficiency with root cause analysis
- Ability to effectively interact with, and present findings to
various levels of the organization
- Ability to document processes and analyses for reference/re-use
required.
- Excellent technical, interpersonal, written and oral
communication skills required.
- Knowledge related to claims, utilization and ICD-10 codes
preferred.
- Excellent critical thinking project management and
communication skills, including the ability to identify
stakeholders, plan steps, coordinate responsibilities to accomplish
goals and objectives in a timely manner
- Computer literacy with Google suite, Microsoft Word, Access,
Excel, PowerPoint
- Deadline driven/competent and resiliency of change
management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with quality and safety data analytics
- 3-5 years of progressive leadership/management experience
- Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ or similar
certification) or willingness to obtain certification
